Let’s talk about personal power…
What is personal power and how can we tap into our own?
Personal power is related to themes regarding your confidence, sense of self, authenticity and character. To me, personal power is less about the way it is defined using words and more of how it is experienced and felt in our bodies. Thus making it a highly unique experience to each individual.
For some of us, that experience may come instantly, for others it may feel a little more challenging to access.
Here are a few ideas on how you can start to tap into your personal power:
Movement: whether it be dance, yoga, weightlifting, pilates, etc. finding a form of movement that brings you into your body in a mindful and conscious way.
Breath work: using different breath work techniques can help you tap into your body, release any tension or obstacles to your personal power.
Journaling: using writing or art-making in your journal can help you reflect on various questions related to personal power
Ex: what does personal power mean to me? How can I embody personal power? Etc.
Taking care of yourself: whether that be getting your hair and nails done, going to therapy, making sure you complete your daily tasks, whatever it may be, having that sense of autonomy over your life can help you tap into your personal power.
Somatic Healing: anything that brings you into your physical body where you get curious and ask yourself questions can help you feel more in control and help you come into your personal power.
Maybe these are tools you use regularly or maybe some of them are new. Mindfully having the intention of coming into and exploring your personal power is the most important step prior to beginning.
