Welcome to the blog!
Hi! I’m so happy you’re here!
My name is Carolina Cordovez and I am the face and primary therapist behind Integrated Healing in Miami, FL. I am passionate about providing Art Therapy and Somatic Healing to adults who experience Anxiety, Trauma and low Self-esteem. My main goal as a therapist is to provide a safe space for my clients as I support them to better understand, cope with and heal from their past and current experiences.
My intention for creating this blog is to be able to share all the things that I love to talk about with you all in a written form.
Before I get more into what I do and how that looks, I wanted to first define some key terms you’ll hear me use a lot on the blog:
Individual therapy: one on one and private way to work with clients. These may differ in length, frequency and location. At Integrated Healing, I provide 50 minute individual sessions, either in person or virtually, mostly weekly yet bi-weekly on as need basis.
Art Therapy: a mental health profession that uses art-making and the creative process to support understanding, discussion and exploration (we’ll get more into this in the next post).
Somatic Healing: uses principles from mindfulness to better understand and explore the body (“soma”). Can help to better understand our feelings and experiences that are often overlooked (i’ll also be going more into this in the next post).
Anxiety: feelings of worry, unease, nervousness that are consistent over time. Will sometimes be accompanied by physical symptoms such as rapid heart rate, difficulty breathing, sweating, stomach discomfort (to name a few).
Trauma: anything that has happened to you that has had an impact on your life. I like to think of trauma as something that happened too fast, too much and too soon. There are different levels to the trauma we experience but it is all valid.
Low self-esteem: being overly critical or judgment of oneself, feeling lost, confused or having an overall negative view.
Client-centered: a form of therapy that invites the client to have an active participation in their treatment. Will usually involve the client working as a team with the therapist. This can help the client find increased independence, sense of self, esteem and motivation to continue on their process.
Holistic: refers to the “whole” and focuses on the interconnected parts versus viewing things as separate.
This blog is a space intended for me to share with you all the things self-care, mental health, the healing process, art therapy, somatic healing and so much more! In other words, it’s a space for me to share all the things I love and feel incredibly passionate about.
If you have specific requests or questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to me either by email (info@carolinacordovez.com) or send me a DM on instagram (@integratedhealing_).
